Patna, June 16 (Reporter) Union Textile Minister and senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Sunday said goats should not be sacrificed at public places on the occasion of Bakrid.
Singh told media persons here that there had been the practice of sacrificing goats by Muslims on the occasion of Bakrid. He stressed that district administration across the country including Begusarai,his Lok Sabha constituency, should ensure that goats should not be sacrificed at public places.
The Union Minister said that officials concerned should make all efforts to ensure that the Bakrid festival could be celebrated with communal amity and social harmony. Maintaining peace and order should be priority, he pointed out.
Singh said that the Textile Ministry had vast scope to employ large scale and it was also directly linked with improving the condition of farmers. Senior officials of the Textile Ministry had arrived in Bihar along with him to assess the possibility of tapping the vast potential of the textile sector in the state, he added.
