Chennai, May 23 (Reporter) Google will set up a Pixel smartphone phone manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. It will be set up in partnership with Foxconn, an official release here said on Thursday. This followed a meeting Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Raaja had with top Google officials in the United States on setting up their manufacturing facilities in the State. The Minister along with Foxconn officials is currently on a visit to the US to attract investments to achieve Chief Minister M.K.Stalin's goal of making Tamil Nadu a USD one Trillion dollar economy by 2030. After the talks, Google pixel, along with Foxconn, has come forward to set up its Pixel smartphone manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The release said top Google officials will soon be visiting Chennai to hold talks with Mr Stalin in this regard. This facility will create job opportunities for youth who had pursued their higher education in the Information and Communication Technology field, the release said. In a post on X, Mr Raaja said Google to enter Tamil Nadu with pixel phones and drone manufacturing. Google to partner with Foxconn to manufacture Pixel smartphones in Tamil Nadu. Google will also start manufacturing drones through its subsidiary named 'Wing in Tamil Nadu', he said. "Under the dynamic leadership of Hon'ble @CMOTamilnadu Thiru @mkstalin, Tamil Nadu is successfully attracting investments in various sectors, creating jobs for its people and boosting the state's economy!", Mr Raaja wrote in his social media page. As part of attaining the 2030 target, Mr Stalin had visited several foreign countries to attract investments to the State and also held Global Investors Conclave in Tamil Nadu, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, United Arab Emirates and France which attracted investments to the tune of Rs Nine lakh sixtyone thousand crores offering jobs to more than 30 lakh youths...////...
