Governor felicitates Mizo NCC cadets for Republic Day Camp participation

Aizawl, Feb 7 (Reporter) Mizoram Governor Gen (Retd) Dr Vijay Kumar Singh on Wednesday hosted a reception at Raj Bhavan to felicitate 58 Mizo NCC cadets who participated in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025 in New Delhi. The event, held at the Circular Lawn, was attended by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, Sports & Youth Services Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar, and other dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, the Governor lauded the cadets for their dedication and highlighted the national significance of the RDC. He commended the NCC for instilling discipline, leadership, and patriotism among youth, emphasising that the training not only enhances physical fitness and military skills but also fosters overall development. As a former NCC cadet himself, the Governor shared personal experiences and encouraged Mizo youth to actively participate in the organisation. He also praised the NCC Directorate North Eastern Region (NER) for its contributions to cadet training, nation-building, and community service. Maj Gen Gagan Deep SM, Additional Director General (ADG) of NCC, NER, presented a report and expressed gratitude for the support extended to NCC cadets. The Governor and Chief Minister presented awards to the participants and interacted with them about their experiences at national-level camps, celebrating their achievements and inspiring future participation. This year’s contingent comprised 45 cadets from the 20 Mizo Battalion NCC Pipe Band, two from 1 Mizo Battalion NCC, one from 2 Mizo Battalion NCC, three from Mizo Air (Flying) Squadron NCC, one from 20 Mizo Battalion NCC who attended the Thal Sainik Camp, and six from 1 Mizo Air (Flying) Squadron NCC who took part in the All India Vayu Sainik Camp...////...
