Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jan 26 (Reporter) Maharashtra state EGS, and District Guardian Minister Sandipan Bhumre asserted on Friday that the state government is committed to the overall development of the district, and along with development, health and hygiene are also being given priority and appealed to residents to let us all resolve to clean our city, our village, and create a healthy environment in it.
He was speaking on the occasion of the flag-hoisting ceremony on Republic Day.
The main government flag-hoisting ceremony of Republic Day was held at Devagiri Maidan here with great enthusiasm.
Young and old citizens, freedom fighters, public representatives, social political activists, government officials, employees, students, etc. participated in this ceremony.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Ambadas Danve, MP Imtiaz Jaleel, former MP Chandrakant Khaire, Divisional Commissioner Madhukar Raje Ardad, Municipal Commissioner G Dr Shrikant, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad. Vikas Meena, Commissioner of Police Manoj Lohia, among others, were present.
Bhumre hoisted the flag and saluted the national flag. Addressing the gathering, Bhumre said that from this day on, we became a republic by adopting the constitution written by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. We are known as the largest democratic country in the world. He saluted the freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for freedom and expressed gratitude.
He further said that, as citizens of this country, it is our responsibility to protect democratic values and the constitution. This responsibility has to be fulfilled by exercising the right to vote. He appealed, that let's take an oath to strengthen our democracy.
Speaking further, he said that the government is committed to solving the problems of farmers. The government has granted Rs 21 crore in aid to over 2.5 lakh farmers who suffered losses in November due to unseasonal rains.
It is planned to take water to farmers' fields through the Brahmagavan Upsa Irrigation Project, and the process of land acquisition is in the final stage. Nandur Madhyameshwar and Jayakwadi water projects have been properly planned, he added.
