Addressing the gathering, Bhumre said that from this day on, we became a republic by adopting the constitution written by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. We are known as the largest democratic country in the world. He saluted the freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for freedom and expressed gratitude. He further said that, as citizens of this country, it is our responsibility to protect democratic values and the constitution. This responsibility has to be fulfilled by exercising the right to vote. He appealed, that let's take an oath to strengthen our democracy. Speaking further, he said that the government is committed to solving the problems of farmers. The government has granted Rs 21 crore in aid to over 2.5 lakh farmers who suffered losses in November due to unseasonal rains. It is planned to take water to farmers' fields through the Brahmagavan Upsa Irrigation Project, and the process of land acquisition is in the final stage. Nandur Madhyameshwar and Jayakwadi water projects have been properly planned, he added.
