Mumbai, Feb 9 (Reporter) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Friday criticised the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, demanding dismissal of the incumbenet govenrment and imposition of president's rule.
Addressing a press conference at state Congress headquarters Tilak Bhavan here, Patole said a former corporator was shot dead in Mumbai after incidents of firing occurred in Kalyan, Jalgaon, Yavatmal, and Jalgaon.
The increasing frequency of such incidents in the state is causing concern for Maharashtra, he said.
The movement of criminals and goons is going on unrestricted at CM's Varsha bungalow. The police are rendered helpless by political interference and government support for criminals who are hardened, he claimed.
Taking a dig at the state government, he said despite the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis does not take it seriously.
"He has shown his helplessness and desperation by making an irresponsible statement that 'Even if a dog comes under the car, the opposition will demand the resignation of the Home Minister.' Doesn't Fadnavis even know the difference between a human and a dog," he asked.
'Two Deputy Chief Ministers have their eye on the Chief Minister's chair, and the interests of Maharashtra are being neglected due to the power struggle,' he added...////...
