Shillong, Feb 17 (Reporter) Meghalaya Police Sub-Inspector Amit Sinha died and two others injured in a road accident on Saturday at Gurugram in Haryana, a police official said.
The accident occurred near the Sanar International Hospital, after an unidentified vehicle hit the vehicle Sinha and his friend Digvijay Singh were riding from behind while they were returning to Chandigarha from Gurugram after having dinner at a restaurant between 3.30AM and 3.50 AM , Chief of Ri-Bhoi district, said.
While Singh and the driver of the vehicle were admitted to hospital with critical injuries, Sinha was declared dead by the doctors at the Sanar International Hospital at Gurugram.
Sinha, who was attached to the office of the Superintendent of Police, Ri Bhoi district in Meghalaya, was on an official visit to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, Gurugram Police have registered a case, and started investigating the case. The investigating team is trying to access CCTV footage in the area to ascertain how the accident happened, which led to Amit Sinha’s death.
Gurugram Police are trying to ascertain Singh’s antecedents, and are also in touch with the Meghalaya Police. From prima facie investigations, it has come to fore that Digvijay Singh is originally from Faridabad, and has been residing in Gurugram...////...
