Jammu, Feb 7 (Reporter) Haryana cadre IPS officer Shashank Anand on Friday took over as the new Inspector General, Border Security Force Jammu Frontier. He replaced IG D K Boora, who has been posted to BSF Headquarters in New Delhi. "Shashank Anand, has taken over charge of Inspector General, BSF Jammu Frontier," BSF Jammu Frontier posted on X. He is the 2006 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Haryana cadre and has been appointed in place of outgoing IG BSF, D K Boora, it further posted. Many senior officers of the Frontier were also present on the occasion. Soon after assuming the charge, the new IG discussed security related challenges along the international border with the officers. He is also expected to take a stock of the security situation along the International Border soon. Anand, who earlier remained posted as DIG in Punjab sector carries a rich experience along with him in border management. He was elevated to the post of IG in January this year. The BSF Jammu Frontier guards 192-km of international border covering Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts and is also responsible for security grid in parts of Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district...////...
