Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sep 23 (Reporter) A tricolour car rally left for Mumbai from Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Monday under the leadership of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) state president Imtiaz Jaleel to demand the arrest of a legislator and a seer who allegedly made communal statements. Sharek Naqshbandi, city president of AIMIM, said the rally started with hundreds of vehicles to demand the immediate arrest of Baba Ramgiri Maharaj and BJP MLA Nitesh Rane , who have made controversial statements. He alleged the two are facing several police complaints but were still to be arrested. While interacting with media persons at the start of the rally, Jaleel said that people expect the state government to run the country as per the constitution. We are going to give a copy of the constitution to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a democratic way, he said. “We want to remind them their duty. When more than 60 cases are filed against Baba Ramgiri, no action is taken. So, today we have left for Mumbai,” he said.
