HC grants bail to accused in Pune German Bakery blast case

Mumbai, Jan 5 (Reporter) Bombay High Court on Friday granted bail to Mirza Himayat Baig, prime accused in the 2010 Pune German Bakery blast case, after a period of 13 years during which he was kept under arrest by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). A division bench of Justice Revati Mohite-Dere and Justice Gauri V Godse, while granting Baig bail, directed him to furnish a surety of Rs one lakh and report to ATS-Nashik on the second Saturday of every month and not to leave the jurisdiction of the trial court in Nashik. The court also refused a request by ATS to stay the operation of the bail order.
