HC rejects KCR’s plea against power sector probe panel

Hyderabad, July 1 (Reporter) In a setback to Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), the Telangana High Court on Monday dismissed his petition questioning the legitimacy of a judicial commission set up by the state government to inquire into alleged irregularities in the power sector. The court dismissed the petition filed by KCR, agreeing with the government's argument justifying the need to probe the previous regime’s decisions. The Telangana Government had appointed a commission headed by Justice L Narasimha Reddy on March 14 this year to investigate allegations of irregularities in the construction of the Yadadri and Bhadradri thermal power stations, as well as power purchase agreements with Chhattisgarh...////...
