Bhubaneswar, Apr 15 (Reporter) An intense heat wave conditions prevailed in several parts of Odisha with day temperature rising above 40 degrees Celsius in as many as 18 places in the state.
IMD sources said the hot and humid discomfort weather conditions and heat wave likely over districts of Odisha during the next 5 days mainly due to prevailing North Westerly/Westerly dry air and high solar insolation.
The day temperature is said to rise gradually by 4 degrees Celsius to 6 degrees Celsius at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 4 to 5 days.
The maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is likely to be more than 40 degrees Celsius or above at many places over the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius over some districts of Odisha during the next 4 to 5 days.
People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during peak hours between 1100 hours 15 hours.
The hot & humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Puri, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur while heatwave conditions is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Balasore.
MeT sources said Baripada town recorded the highest day temperature of 41.4 degrees Celsius on Monday followed by 41.2 degrees Celsius each in Bhubaneswar, Chandbali and Nuapada.
Day temperatures also soared to above 41 degrees Celsius in Malkangiri, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Titlagarh, and Parlakhemundi on Monday...////...
