Bengaluru, May 29 (Reporter) In a startling development here on Wednesday, a Special Court for Elected Representatives dealt a severe blow to the defense of Prajwal Revanna by rejecting his anticipatory bail plea amid grave accusations of sexual abuse.
The judge dismissed the bail application presented by Arun, Prajwal's advocate. This decision has heightened the suspense surrounding Prajwal's imminent return to Bengaluru.
Prajwal, the grandson of JDS stalwart HD Deve Gowda, finds himself entangled in a scandal involving alleged rape and sexual harassment of a 47-year-old woman. His sudden departure from India on April 27, just a day after the polls in the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, has shielded him from authorities' grasp.
On May 18, the Court issued an arrest warrant against Prajwal following a petition by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). In a twist of fate, the SIT subsequently apprehended Prajwal's father, JD(S) MLA HD Revanna, on charges related to the kidnapping of the woman related to the case.
As the countdown to Prajwal's arrival at Kempegowda International Airport begins, all eyes are fixed on the airport, where the SIT stands ready to detain him upon touchdown.
Meanwhile, legal wrangling within the Revanna family continues unabated. Prajwal's mother, Bhavani Revanna, has sought anticipatory bail, fearing her arrest in connection with the kidnapping case involving her husband.
The SIT has vehemently opposed Bhavani's bail plea and has also moved to nullify the interim anticipatory bail granted to Revanna.
With the special court reserving its decision on Bhavani's bail plea until May 31, the saga surrounding this case only deepens, adding another layer of intrigue to an already gripping narrative...////...
