Chennai, Dec 22 (Reporter) The high level Executive Meeting of the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu on Sunday strongly condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks demeaning Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution, and castigated the BJP-led Government at the centre over non-release of Rs 6,675 crore NDRF assistances sought by the State for Cyclone Fengal relief and rehabilitation works. Resolutions to this effect were adopted at the meeting chaired by DMK President and Chief Minister M K Stalin at the Party headquarters 'Anna Arivalayam'. The resolution strongly condemned Mr Amit Shah for insulting Dr Ambedkar and belittling the sacrifices made by him. It also lauded the efforts of the DMK MPs and the Opposition INDIA bloc leaders for constructively raising the issue in both the Houses of Parliament and the functionaries and the cadres of DMK and its allies for staging protest demonstrations across the state urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove the Union Home Minister from the Cabinet. "It's an unbearable shame for the ruling BJP-led government at the Centre as the Union Home Minister, holding such a high office, has insulted Dr Ambedkar in the house of Temple of Democracy by unleashing irritating uncultured politics", it said. "It is even more shameful that the BJP was enacting drama inside and outside the Parliament to divert the attention of Mr Amit Shah's remarks, which will never be acceptable by any one at any time", the resolution said. Another resolution slammed the Centre for not releasing the Rs 6,675 crore relief sought by the State for undertaking relief works in Cyclone Fengal hit districts. Recalling the letter written by Mr Stalin to the Prime Minister seeking immediate release of an interim relief or S 2,000 crore and the request put forth to the multi-diciplinary Central Team which had toured the flood hit districts and made an on the spot assessment about the damages causes, it said the Centre instead had only released Rs 944.80 crore pending funds but had not released the interim relief of Rs 2,000 crore sought by the Chief Minister. Expressing its strong condemnation for not releasing Rs 6,675 crore Cyclone relief funds from NDRF sought by the State, the resolution said the funds sought by the State was from NDRF and not from the BJP. "It is the NDRF fund and not the BJP Party's fund...the Centre should keep this in mind and ensure that funds sought by the State hit by the natural calamity, was allocated at the earliest ", it said. Several resolutions, including opposing strongly the One Nation One Election Bill, which was referred to the Joint Parliamentary Committee following stiff resistance from the MPs of the DMK and other parties, and demanding its withdrawal, revoking the tungsten mining rights awarded to the Hindustan Zinc, release of funds under the SSA scheme to the state and allocation of funds for various other projects, were also adopted at the meeting...////...
