Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav directed the officials of Ujjain and Indore to develop a strategy preventing sewerage and drain water mixing in Shipra river. The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of concern that dirty water is getting into Shipra. He said to take opinion of an expert for conservation and rejuvenation of the river. The Chief Minister said that to stop the water from drain and sewerage, stop-dams should be built in Sanwer, Ramwasa, Panthapipalai, Raghopipalya and install water treatment plant there. Farmers should also be advised to use the clean water from the water treatment plant for irrigation. The Chief Minister said that under no circumstances dirty water should enter into Shipra. He said to make adequate arrangements for drain and sewerage water for the new colonies as well. That water should not be found in the Shipra river under any circumstances. The Chief Minister said that the work of maintenance, repair work of stop-dam and raising its height if required should be done on priority. These instructions were given by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav at a meeting on Shipra River Conservation. It was informed that there is a proposal to build a pucca stopdam on Kanh river. The Chief Minister said that there is a pumping station in Sadawal. Water should be diverted to the stopdam. The Chief Minister said that if the dirty water is controlled by constructing a water treatment plant and stopdam on Sanwer itself, then Shipra will remain pure.
