Hyd: Asha workers protest for pending & higher wages

Hyderabad, June 18 (Reporter) Asha workers, led by Dr Shilpa Reddy, President of the Telangana BJP Mahila Morcha, held a dharna in front of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Office in Koti on Tuesday, demanding payment of pending wages and higher salaries. During the protest, Dr Shilpa Reddy called for immediate payment of two months' pending salaries for Asha workers. She also emphasised the need to increase their wages from Rs 9,000 to Rs 18,000 as promised during the elections and to provide ESI membership and PF benefits. A memorandum was submitted to DME Joint Director Dr Padmaja, urging prompt action to address these issues. The state BJP Mahila Morcha warned that if there is any delay in resolving the problems, the agitation for Asha workers' rights will intensify...////...
