Hyderabad, Oct 27 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday highlighted the invaluable role of the Yadav community in the development of Hyderabad, acknowledging their contributions at the annual Sadar festival, a buffalo carnival celebrated by the Yadav community during Diwali. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest at NTR Stadium, Reddy expressed pride in Telangana's rich cultural traditions and announced that the Sadar Sammelanam would now be organised officially by the state each year. “Sadar is a celebration of the Yadava community, and it is a matter of pride for our state to host this festival in Hyderabad. From this platform, I am directing officials to ensure the Sadar Sammelan is celebrated as an official annual event,” Reddy said, noting that the government aims to extend the festival’s spirit to every village in the state. Reddy emphasised the importance of supporting the Yadava community, acknowledging their historical role in livestock rearing and fodder cultivation along Hyderabad’s Musi catchment area. He also pledged to work on restoring the Musi River region, ensuring a better standard of living for local residents. The Chief Minister affirmed that the Congress party is committed to developing Hyderabad on an international scale, pledging continued support for the Yadava brothers in both community initiatives and political representation. Reddy highlighted the recent appointment of Anil Kumar Yadav to the Rajya Sabha as part of these efforts, emphasising the Congress's commitment to providing more political opportunities to the community. In a call for unity and resilience, Reddy encouraged the Yadava community to uphold the values of righteousness, drawing inspiration from Lord Krishna’s support for dharma in the Mahabharata. “Yadava brothers, stand on the side of righteousness, and together, let us defeat injustice,” he urged.
