Hyderabad, Dec 30 (Reporter) The Nampally Court will pronounce its verdict on the regular bail petition filed by Telugu film actor Allu Arjun in connection with the Sandhya 70 MM theatre stampede case, on January 3.
The police filed a counter against the bail petition filed by the actor.
After hearing the arguments from the both sides, the court on Monday reserved its judgment.
Tollywood actor Allu Arjun , who is currently on interim bail, on Friday filed a petition in the Nampally criminal courts in Hyderabad seeking regular bail in connection with the case related to the death of a 35-year-old woman in a stampede-like situation during the premiere of his latest film Pushpa-2 on December 4.
Her son SriTej was severely hurt in the tragic incident.
The actor was arrested on December 13 after a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was filed against him. The Nampally Court had sent the actor to judicial custody for 14 days, and he was briefly lodged in the Chanchalguda jail. However, his lawyer approached the High Court, which granted him interim bail the same day, instructing him to move the trial court for regular bail.
On December 24, the Hyderabad police questioned Allu Arjun for nearly four hours in connection with the stampede.
Recently, Allu Arjun and the makers of Pushpa 2 announced a compensation of ₹2 crore to the family of the child.
While ₹1 crore was given by Allu Arjun, Mythri Movies and director Sukumar gave ₹50 lakh each.
The compensation was handed over to the family by film producer and chairperson of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, Dil Raju...////...
