IMD predicts heavy to extremely very heavy rains in Telangana over next 24 hrs

Hyderabad, Sep 2 (Reporter) The Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad has predicted very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated locations in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy districts of Telangana over the next 24 hours. In its daily weather report on Monday, the Meteorological Centre also warned that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph, are likely to occur in isolated areas across several districts of the state over the next four days. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at many places across Telangana during the next seven days as the southwest monsoon remains vigorous over the state. During the past 24 hours, isolated areas in Kamareddy district experienced extremely heavy rainfall. Very heavy rainfall was also recorded in parts of Nirmal and Medak districts, while isolated places in Adilabad, Jagtial, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, and Siddipet districts received significant rainfall. Heavy rainfall occurred in several areas of Peddapalli district and in parts of Karimnagar, Warangal, and Mahabubabad, with isolated heavy showers in Hanamkonda, Mulugu, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, and Wanaparthy districts.
