Pen, June 14 (Reporter) Accusing the INDI alliance of “polluting” the country’s atmosphere by spreading “fake news” about the BJP’s “plans” to change the Constitution, NCP Maharashtra chief Sunil Tatkare on Friday conceded minorities, Ambedkarites and tribals got “alienated” from the Mahayuti during the Lok Sabha election.
"INDI Alliance worked to pollute the atmosphere in the country. They succeeded in confusing people by spreading fake news about changes in the Constitution of India. Minorities, Ambedkarites, and Tribals got alienated from Mahayuti in the elections,” Tatkare said here.
In the just concluded elections, the Mahayuti comprising the BJP, Ajit Pawar-led NCP and Eknath Shinde-headed Shiv Sena could win only 17 of the 48 seats. The opposition INDIA, called Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the state, picked up 30 seats.
Tatkare, who was speaking here on day one of his thanksgiving tour after winning the Raigad Lok Sabha constituency, said despite the reverses suffered by the Mahayuti, the Pen Assembly voters had stood solidly behind him.
“Because of this, I will be able to take oath as a Lok Sabha member. I am humbled," he said.
"I also thank all the voters and citizens of Raigad for their strong support," he said.
Raigad is the only constituency won by NCP in the LS poll.
Tatkare also promised that whatever proposals the people of Pen may give to solve water problems and for other development works, those will be carried out by allocating funds through Finance Minister Ajit Pawar...////...
