INDIA Bloc denied permission to protest in Delhi on Manipur: Congress President

Imphal, Dec 6 (Reporter) INDIA Bloc, Manipur has been denied permission to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar. Delhi Manipur Congress President , K Meghachandra said in a social media post on Friday. , ”As we have not been given permission to hold our peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar today for Manipur, we strongly condemn such anti-democratic act of not allowing us to protest at Jantar Mantar today.” A team of political leaders representing ten political parties were in New Delhi to take the protest to centrestage as the crisis in the state was continuing. A protest was planned on Dec 9 which was not allowed. K Meghachandra and Kshetrimayum Shanta, Convenor of the platform of the ten political parties submitted a letter to the Prime Minister urging him to visit Manipur this year. The ten political parties said if the Prime Minister has no time to visit Manipur, he can invite all political parties from Manipur for talks. The PM was also requested to engage with the people of Manipur . Meghachandra said thousands of people from Manipur who went to Delhi are disheartened as the permission was not granted. Several delegations of BJP, Congress and other organisations of Manipur had camped in New Delhi to seek an appointment. However so far the Prime Minister has not met any representative from Manipur since violence started in Churachandpur on May 3, 2023. Meghachandra said the INDIA bloc will continue the protest in many forms in different parts of the country as the Manipur turmoil has become a national issue...////...
