India-Mongolia joint military exercise ends in Meghalaya

Umroi (Meghalaya), July 16 (Reporter) A joint training exercise between the Indian and Mongolian armies formally came to an end on Tuesday at the joint training node in Meghalaya’s Umroi Cantonment. The 14-day long exercise named ‘Nomadic Elephant’ enhanced synergy in joint tactical operations and improved interoperability and camaraderie between the armies of the two friendly nations. The exercise brought together the army of the Sikkim Scouts along with personnel from other arms and services and the 150 Quick Reaction Force Battalion of the Mongolian Army. The closing ceremony was witnessed by the Chief of General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, Major General Ganbyamba Sunrev and General Officer Commanding the Trishakti Corps Lieutenant General Zubin A Minwalla. “As the ceremony unfolded, both leaders engaged in a meaningful dialogue about future joint operations, symbolizing the deepened ties and mutual respect cultivated throughout the exercise. This exchange highlighted their unwavering commitment to fostering partnership in the realm of regional security,” Guwahati-based Defence Spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat said. Following the ceremony, the Indian contingent showcased their advanced capabilities through a spectacular display of cutting-edge weapons and equipment. Rawat said the exhibition underscored the technological strides made under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, reinforcing India's growing defence potential. Troops from both nations eagerly interacted, sharing experiences and insights, further strengthening the bonds formed during the training.
