IndiGo doubles direct flights between Aizawl and Delhi

Aizawl, Oct 6 (Reporter) IndiGo Airlines has increased the frequency of direct flights between Aizawl’s Lengpui Airport and New Delhi from five times a week to ten, starting Saturday. Officials from the state’s civil aviation wing announced this on Sunday. State Chief Minister Lalduhoma flagged off the additional flights at a ceremony held at Lengpui Airport, marking a significant step towards enhancing Mizoram’s connectivity with the rest of the country. There will now be two direct flights between Aizawl and Delhi on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while one flight each will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Existing flights between Aizawl and other destinations, including Kolkata, Imphal, and Shillong, operated by Alliance Air, will continue without changes. During the flag-off event, the chief minister expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and IndiGo Airlines for responding positively to his request for increased flight frequency. He stated that the expanded service would not only boost air connectivity but also strengthen Mizoram’s economic, cultural, and social integration with the rest of the country.
