Srinagar, May 22 (Reporter) A joint meeting of officials and security forces was held to review the security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District on Wednesday.
The annual Amarnath Yatra is likely to commence on the twin routes of Pahalgam in south Kashmir and the Baltal route in Ganderbal district in the Kashmir Himalayas on June 29.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal Shyambir today convened a joint meeting with officers from the Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, and other security agencies to thoroughly discuss the security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2024), an official spokesman said.
The meeting addressed various security aspects, with the DC offering valuable suggestions and feedback to strengthen the security grid and ensure foolproof security for the Yatris.
Shyambir emphasised a proactive and coordinated approach among the officers to ensure that the yatra is conducted smoothly and successfully.
Key locations, including the Baltal Base Camp and Domail, were specifically discussed for security arrangements.
The DC directed the concerned security agencies to conduct a joint visit to Baltal to finalise locations for establishing main camps, with a directive to report any required changes from the security perspective before deployment begins.
