Bengaluru, July 16 (Reporter) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the state government, accusing it of betraying the interests of the farmers in the Cauvery water dispute and misappropriating funds meant for backward communities. Vijayendra also alleged that the government has diverted funds meant for Dalit upliftment to other purposes, exploiting and looting money intended for the Valmiki community's development. He also claimed that the previous government under BS Yediyurappa had released more funds for Dalit and backward class welfare. "This government has done grave injustice. In fact, the previous government during BS Yediyurappa released more funds for the upliftment of Dalits and backward classes... The money meant for the upliftment of Dalits has been diverted to their guarantees. At the same time, money meant for the development of the Valmiki community has been exploited, looted, and used for the Lok Sabha elections..." Vijayendra stated. Vijayendra's remarks have sparked a political firestorm, with the ruling party facing accusations of prioritizing political interests over people's welfare...////...
