Kolar (Karnataka), Sep 14 (Reporter) Bengaluru RR Nagar BJP MLA Munirathna, has been arrested by police in this district on Saturday. The politician, who faces serious allegations of threatening contractor Chaluvaraju and using casteist slurs, was apprehended in Nangali village of Mulbagilu taluk, in Kolar district. Munirathna was crossing over to Andhra Pradesh when police intercepted him. With the assistance from the local Kolar police, the BJP MLA was apprehended while enroute to Chittoor. Kolar Superintendent of Police, Nikhil, confirmed the arrest, stating, "Munirathna was arrested near Kolar’s main gate while attempting to cross into Andhra Pradesh. He is now in custody and being transported back to Bengaluru for further legal proceedings."
