Mysuru, Oct 6 (Reporter) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa claimed on Sunday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah may resign following the upcoming Dasara festival. This prediction comes amid increasing pressure on the Congress-led government, particularly concerning allegations of corruption tied to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment case involving Siddaramaiah’s family. Vijayendra remarked that the Chief Minister has been forced to reassure the media of his ongoing leadership, suggesting that "he is in a precarious situation." He indicated that "the chief minister could resign at any moment" around Dasara, highlighting the rising tensions within the administration. He also noted that the countdown to Siddaramaiah's resignation began after the BJP's recent padayatra, asserting that the Congress high command is considering the ramifications of his potential departure. “It is time for the Chief Minister to resign,” he added, a sentiment he believes is widely shared. Meanwhile, JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy predicted early Assembly elections in Karnataka, citing internal discord within the Congress party. "You need not wait until 2028 for the next election. Due to the Congress party's misdeeds, elections may come sooner," he stated. Kumaraswamy further criticised the Congress government, emphasizing its escalating internal conflicts by stating, "People within Congress are positioning themselves for the CM role." Currently, Siddaramaiah is under investigation by the Lokayukta and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning alleged irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites to his wife, Parvati.
