Bengaluru, Oct 15 (Reporter) In a display of resilience and determination, the fourth batch of Agniveers from the newly introduced Agnipath scheme marched into the ranks of India’s Parachute Regiment here on Tuesday, despite persistent rainfall.
The Agniveers Passing Out Parade unfolded as scheduled, showcasing the unwavering spirit of these recruits, who epitomise the essence of special forces soldiers—always ready to achieve their mission, irrespective of the conditions.
The impressive parade featured 462 Agniveers, marking the successful conclusion of an intense 24-week training period. These newly attested soldiers will soon transition to designated Special Forces units, where they will undergo a further rigorous phase of probation and selection.
The event was graced by Major General VT Mathew, an esteemed recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Yudh Seva Medal, who serves as the General Officer Commanding of the Headquarters Karnataka & Kerala Sub Area.
In his address to the Agniveers, he urged them to embody the values of "Imandari, Wafadari, Bahaduri" (Integrity, Loyalty, Courage).
The Major General praised the soldiers for their impressive turnout and drill, extending his congratulations to the parents in attendance and acknowledging their contributions to the nation.
The parade was commanded by Agniveer Subrat Kumar Nanda from Odisha. Among the notable award winners, Agniveer Lokhande Siddhesh Santosh was honoured with the Gill Medal for Overall Best Recruit.
Other accolades included the Commandant’s Endurance Medal awarded to Agniveer Shiva Tomar for best endurance, the Ghadge Medal for excellence in firing and weapon training received by Agniveer MD Ziaur Rahman, and the Cheema Medal for Best Recruit in Physical Training, went to Agniveer Santosh Kashyap.
Agniveer Subrat Kumar Nanda also secured the Chhetri Medal for Best Recruit in Drill...////...
