Karnataka sculptor's Murti selected for Ram Lalla consecration in Ayodhya

Bengaluru, Jan 15 (Reporter) The Murti sculpted by Karnataka-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj has been selected as Shri Vigraha of Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla Sarkar in Ayodhya Temple. The idol has been carved out of Krishna Shila and will be placed in the 'Garbha Griha' on January 18, while the consecration ceremony will take place on 22 January 22 at 12.30 pm, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra General Secretary Champat Rai told reporters in Ayodhya. "The Murti sculpted on Krishna Shila, by renowned sculptor Shri Arun Yogiraj, has been selected as Shri Vigraha of Bhagwan Shri Ramlalla Sarkar," the Trust stated. However, the pictures of the idols have not been revealed so far. The Murti is of five-year-old Ram Lalla and weighs around 150-200 kgs. The Murti of Ram Lalla has been sculpted on the artwork of Vasudeo Kamath, who is an internationally acclaimed painter, hailing from Karkala town in Karnataka. He is famous worldwide for his paintings depicting Ramayana. Krishna Shila is found in the vicinity of Karkala and is one of the finest stones used for sculpting.
