Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 8 (Reporter) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has released a 'Progress Report' on the occasion of the three-year completion of the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government in the State.
Seeking wholehearted support from all sections of people to fulfil his Government's promises made in the 2021-Election Manifesto, he said his Government's aim is to make Kerala a developed State in the country.
Releasing the Progress Report by handing over a copy of it to Chief Secretary Dr. V. Venu on Friday evening, the Chief Minister said Kerala has the best human resource capacity among other States in India.
Claiming that Kerala's development perspective has attracted attention of world-renowned experts, including Nobel laureates, participated in the seminars held as part of Keralayam-2023, the Chief Minister said various Government departments are taking steps to implement valuable suggestions received from the seminars.
Criticising the Union Government for its negative approach towards Kerala, he said the Centre was trying to create financial crisis in the State. However, the Kerala will go ahead with all its development projects and find its own financial resources for implementing its programmes, he added.
The Development programmes will also be implemented on the basis of suggestions received from the recent 'Nava Kerala Sadas' covered all the 140 Assembly constituencies, he added.
Stating that the Government is giving emphasis for social security and infrastructure development, he said the Government is taking steps to ensure the distribution of welfare pensions despite the financial crisis.
The arrears of social security pensions, raised from Rs 600 to Rs 1,600, and Dearness Allowance of Government employees will be given soon, he added.
"During the tenure of the first LDF Government which came into power in 2016, about 4,03,811 houses were constructed for homeless through the LIFE scheme. Even under stringent financial restrictions imposed by the Centre, another 1,41,680 houses were completed from 2021 under his second term," he added.
Stating that the work on Hill-Coastal Highways, which will change the face of Kerala, is progressing, he said the works of National Highway development were rapidly advancing with the support of Kerala which provided 25 percent financial allocation for its development in the State.
