Palakkad (Kerala), Jan 14 (Reporter) A sexagenarian farmer was drowned in a canal in a bid to escape from the attack of honey bees at Chittur, on Tuesday.
The farmers' wife has been admitted in a hospital due to the attack of honey bees.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Sathyarajan (65) of Kanakkapara in Chittur. His wife Visalakshi (58) has been admitted at Chittur taluk hospital.
The incident took place around 0800 hours, when Sathyarajan, his wife and grandchildren were watering the crops, and suddenly bees attacked them at their farm land.
They ran away from the spot to escape from the honey bees attack. Sathyaraj jumped into the nearby Kanakapura canal and his wife and children fled from the scene on another route.
Following the incident, Visalkashi alerted the local people and fire force brigade and they conducted search operations and recovered the body about one kilometre away from the spot...////...
