Itanagar, Feb 5 (Reporter) Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, the Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, on Monday approved the creation of two more districts, ‘Keyi Panyor’ and ‘Bichom’, fulfilling the long-pending demands of the people of the concerned regions.
Keyi Panyor district, with its headquarters at Yachuli (Ter Gapin-Sam Sath area), will be created by bifurcating Lower Subansiri district, while Bichom district will be carved out from East Kameng’s Lada circle and Nafra, an ADC headquarters in West Kameng district.
In this regard, the Cabinet gave its seal of approval to the Arunachal Pradesh (Re-organisation of Districts) (Amendment) Bill, 2024, to be introduced in the ensuing Assembly session beginning February 8.
Moreover, the government has created 67 posts, consisting of Group A, Group B non-gazetted, Group C, MTS, and ALCs, for each of the two new districts, which were approved by the Cabinet in today’s sitting.
To strengthen the fire and emergency services in the state, the Cabinet approved the creation of 53 additional posts in various categories in the Fire and Emergency Services Department. This additional manpower will be deployed in the heliports and airports under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, UDAN, the state government's spokesperson and Home Minister Bamang Felix told the media.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal for the establishment of new judicial courts with the creation of 103 posts in various categories, he said.
The council of ministers also okayed the Arunachal Pradesh Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill 2024 and the amendment of the Arunachal Pradesh (Land Settlement and Records) Act 2000 (Act No. 10 of 2000). These bills will be tabled in the ensuing budget session for discussion and passing, Felix said...////...
