Hyderabad, Oct 20 (Reporter) Telangana BJP President and Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy criticized the Congress government, accusing it of arrogance and anti-Hindu policies in light of recent incidents, including the destruction of the Mutyalamma temple and the police lathi charge against protesting students and unemployed youth in Ashok Nagar.
Speaking to the media at the state party headquarters on Sunday evening, Reddy condemned the government's handling of the protests, particularly the violence against unemployed youth.
He alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration has failed to address the issues faced by the unemployed, farmers, and the poor. He added that despite multiple election promises and guarantees, none of these commitments have been fulfilled.
Reddy questioned the police's heavy-handed response to the temple incident and asked whether peaceful protesters were being treated like terrorists. He accused the Congress of taking an anti-Hindu stance, stating that during festivals like Vinayaka Chavithi, Bonalu, and Devi Navratras, unnecessary cases were filed against, DJ operators, and event organizers.
He also raised concerns over the Congress government's silence regarding the attack on a Hindu temple by individuals from other states who had received religious training.
Reddy further criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of being indifferent to Hindu religious matters such as the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and Hindu festivals.
Regarding the police lathi charge in Ashok Nagar, Reddy expressed anger over the injuries sustained by protesters.
The BJP leader also criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his inaction, stating that before becoming Chief Minister, he used to interact with people at the Ashok Nagar library, but now remains indifferent to their plight.
He warned that the Congress was following in the footsteps of the BRS party, continuing the same policies that led to issues like paper leaks, the cancellation of exams, and the failure to implement an efficient recruitment process.
Reddy called on the Congress government to show sincerity in filling jobs by directly addressing the concerns of the unemployed youth and students. He urged the government to create a clear action plan for conducting examinations and accused the administration of lacking common sense in its handling of recruitment exams, questioning why some tests seemed to rely on sources like Wikipedia and Google.
He further criticized the implementation of GO 29, stating that there were many doubts surrounding the policy, and questioned why the government had not addressed these concerns directly with the students. Reddy expressed frustration over the government's inability to even organize exams properly, calling it an "incompetent government."
He accused the Congress of trying to divert attention from its unfulfilled promises by creating new problems, such as ordering lathi charges and engaging in illegal demolitions, in an attempt to shift focus away from its failures...////...
