Hyderabad/New Delhi, Sep 24 (Reporter) Union Coal and Mines Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy has dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent remarks, made during the Kashmir election campaign, as "baseless and laughable."
Gandhi had claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has "lost confidence," a statement which Reddy strongly refuted.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Reddy asserted, "The truth is that 1.4 billion Indians have unshakeable trust and confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Modi."
He further criticized Rahul Gandhi, saying that it is Gandhi who has "lost confidence in Indian democracy" and has been undermining key institutions, including Parliament, the office of the Speaker, and even the country’s highest constitutional bodies like the Supreme Court and the Election Commission.
Reddy accused Rahul Gandhi of extending his criticisms to revered institutions such as the Indian Armed Forces, aligning himself with anti-national forces, and exploiting caste and religion for electoral gains.
"Leveling unsubstantiated allegations against the Prime Minister and the Union government has become a hallmark of his political rhetoric," Reddy added.
Highlighting the electoral record, Reddy pointed out that the Congress party’s performance over the last three elections pales in comparison to the BJP’s achievements.
"Even when combined, the number of seats Congress has won does not come close to what the BJP has achieved on its own. In the 2024 elections, the BJP won more seats than the entire opposition alliance combined," he said.
He added that, despite Congress' consistent defeats, Rahul Gandhi continues to spread misinformation and make "hollow accusations" against Prime Minister Modi.
Reddy emphasized that Prime Minister Modi’s confidence does not require validation from Rahul Gandhi. "Modi has been elected as Prime Minister for three consecutive terms with a majority, a testament to the immense trust that 1.4 billion Indians have placed in him. This overwhelming faith in his leadership unites the nation behind him," he said.
The Union Minister also highlighted Modi's leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, crediting him for bringing together the scientific community and ensuring the rapid development of life-saving vaccines, earning both national and global admiration.
Reddy went on to praise Modi's decisive leadership in various global and domestic crises, including the safe evacuation of Indian citizens during the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
He noted that Modi’s leadership is respected on the world stage, with recognition from forums such as the G20, BRICS, and the Quad summits.
He cited a recent statement from the U.S. National Security Agency, which expressed confidence in India’s semiconductor manufacturing capabilities, as further evidence of Modi’s global credibility.
"For Rahul Gandhi to claim that he has shaken Prime Minister Modi's confidence is nothing short of absurd. No Indian, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, would find such statements believable," Reddy said.
He criticized Gandhi’s leadership within his party, pointing to Congress’ electoral defeats and Gandhi's perceived lack of understanding of governance.
Reddy also targeted Gandhi's alliance with Omar Abdullah in the Jammu and Kashmir election campaign, suggesting that Abdullah’s decision to contest from two seats indicates a lack of confidence in securing even one.
Reddy asserted that Rahul Gandhi has no moral authority to criticize Prime Minister Modi, a leader who has worked selflessly to elevate India's standing globally.
He predicted that the people of India would once again reject Rahul Gandhi’s "divisive politics" and reaffirm their faith in Modi’s leadership...////...
