Kolkata, Sep 29 (Reporter) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday claimed that the Koshi river from Nepal inundated some North Bengal districts. Speaking to the reporters at the city Airport before going to Bagdogra, Banerjee said the Koshi river water was affecting the North Bengal districts before the festivals. She said Malda ,Darjeeling, and Kalimpong districts have been affected and NH 10, the lifelines of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Hills, was badly affected disrupting the traffic, including the transportation of essentials. Banerjee is scheduled to visit the landslides-affected areas and hold an administrative meeting at Uttarkanya, the headquarters of the North Bengal secretariat this evening. She said she had already visited the flooded affected districts of south Bengal where 5 lakh cusec of water was released by the DVC and described it as a "Man-made flood'. Now the Koshi River in Nepal was inundating the northern parts of Bengal. The water has entered West Bengal from Bihar, she stated. Incessant rains have caused landslides in Darjeeling and Kalimpong for the past three days, disrupting roads. She said all states received funds from the Centre owing to the flood, but Bengal was being deprived of such assistance, despite several requests to provide funds to take up rehabilitation work...////...
