Kannur, May 18 (Reporter)Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President K Sudhakaran on Saturday criticised the CPI (M) for the construction of a MEMORIAL building at Kannur to honour two comrades, who were killed in a bomb explosion while making bombs on June 6, 2016.
Sudhakaran said what type of message the CPI(M) is sending to the Kerala society by building a memorial for the comrades, who were killed while making a bomb at Chettakandi near Panoor in the district, in 2015. He alleged that CPI(M) is doing the same things in Kerala as terrorist organizations are doing in the world.
It shows proof of how much the CPI(M) party condones terrorist activities and reveals the mentality towards the party workers involved in such criminal activities, Sudhakaran said.
He alleged that Kannur district is the epicenter of the fascist brutality in Kerala and that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has been leading it for the last three decades.
CPI(M) State Secretary M V Govindan is scheduled to inaugurate the martyr memorial building on May 22 at Chettakandi near Panoor, in honour of two CPI(M) workers-- K Shaiju (35) and C Subeesh (32), hailing from East Chettakandi who died in the bomb explosion in 2015.
Two persons were killed and four injured, when the CPI(M) workers were mixing the ingredients for making the powerful steel bombs in an unused plot at Chettakandi under Kolavallur police limits.
First, the CPI(M) had distanced itself from the incident with the State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan stating that the party had no role or involvement in it and alleged that the opposition parties were spreading false information against the party for political gain.
However, on the next day, the then CPI(M) district secretary P Jayarajan received the bodies of the victims and said that the two died while attempting to defend against the RSS and cremated the bodies on the party's land in East Chettathodi in the presence of local party leaders.
Sudhakaran said, on April 5, 2024 also one CPI(M) worker Sherin (26) of Puthoor was killed and four others injured while making bombs at Muliyathode near Panoor. Sudhakaran said a memorial building will also be raised in Muliyathode, very soon...////...
