Kannur, Oct 31 (Reporter) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President K Sudhakaran, MP on Thursday alleged that the ruling CPI(M) has taken a stand to protect District Panchayat President P P Vidya, in connection with the death of Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu after he was allegedly insulted and defamed by Divya during his farewell party in the presence of the District Collector and his subordinates on October 15.
Talking to news persons here, Sudhakaran said ' the proof of CPI(M) protecting Divya can be seen as the party has not taken any disciplinary action against her so far, though the police had arrested her and she was charged with abetment to suicide in the case on October 29.
The Congress party was demanding a judicial inquiry, because the people didn't believe the police investigation.
The Kannur MP claimed that "the style of functioning of CPI(M) party is to do something if they decide to do it". Now the party decided to protect Divya, who is a accused in criminal case. The CPI(M) did not suspended her, so far.
This is proof of the party's resolve to protect P P Divya, who was lodged in the women Jail at Kannur on October 29, after the local court rejected her anticipatory bail plea.
He also said the Police inquiry is not fair in this case, that is why the Naveen Babu's family also decided to approach the court demanding a Judicial inquiry to reveal the truth.
Sudhakaran alleged that " Kannur District Collector may have been influenced by the Left Government, as the contradiction statement given to the Police by the Collector seems to be a proof in this regard.
The KPCC President alleged that " Divya was irritated against Naveen Babu because of not getting her share for issuing a license to petrol pump when the ADM had given the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the pump owner at Chegalai.
The CPI(M) leaders are taking commissions in connection with issuing licenses to petrol pumps, he alleged...////...
