Bengaluru, July 24 (Reporter) The Karnataka BJP on Wednesday escalated its protest by launching the day-and-night agitation in both the Legislative Assembly and the Council over the alleged fraudulent land allotments made by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The protest comes amid claims that plots were improperly allocated, including those given to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi. The BJP's move follows repeated denials of their requests to discuss the alleged Rs 4,000 crore MUDA scam in the legislature. The party has accused the government of avoiding scrutiny and the bias of the Speaker UT Khader, alleging that the latter has sided with the ruling party to suppress debate on this critical issue. Leader of Opposition R Ashoka slammed the government's reluctance to address the scam, denouncing their actions as cowardly and undemocratic. "The Speaker's conduct has been condemnable, and the government is using him to prevent a fair discussion on the MUDA allegations," Ashoka asserted. State BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa echoed these concerns, highlighting the need for justice and transparency.
