Bengaluru, June 12 (Reporter) In a dramatic turn of events, Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara declared on Wednesday that actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his associates will face the full force of the law for their alleged involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy.
The high-profile case saw Darshan, along with actress Pavithra Gowda and 11 others, arrested on Tuesday. Police are now investigating whether Darshan has a history of criminal behavior, promising to apply stringent legal measures based on their findings.
"Darshan was brought to Bengaluru from Mysuru and arrested. The law is equal for everyone, and no one should take it into their hands," Dr. Parameshwara affirmed, stressing the impartiality of the legal process.
Amidst swirling rumours of political interference, the Home Minister assured the public that the investigation would remain uninfluenced by external forces. "No one from the government will interfere. The police have been given a free hand to act according to the law," he said, dismissing the need for the case to be transferred to another agency.
Reflecting on the past, Dr. Parameshwara referenced Darshan's 2011 arrest for allegedly assaulting his wife, a case that was eventually resolved. This historical context adds a layer of complexity to the current charges against the actor.
The Home Minister also mentioned plans to discuss support for Renukaswamy's family with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, highlighting the government's commitment to justice and victim support in this tragic case...////...
