Bengaluru, Sep 17 (Reporter) Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Tuesday promised a thorough investigation into the recent violence in Nagamangala, which occurred during the Ganesh idol procession on the night of September 11. The clashes between two groups led to significant damage to shops and vehicles, escalating tensions in Mandya district. Parameshwara assured that the alleged involvement of "outsiders" linked to the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) will be meticulously examined. He stated, "We will review every aspect of the incident and act based on the findings to ensure justice." The Minister confirmed that two officials, the Deputy Superintendent of Police and the Inspector, have been suspended. He noted, "Further actions will depend on the outcome of the investigation." Regarding the arrest of BJP MLA Munirathna on the charges of harassment and bribery, Parameshwara defended the action as necessary, saying, "The arrest was procedural and in line with the complaint."
