Nalgonda (Telangana), Apr 1 (Reporter) BRS working president and former Minister K T Rama Rao (KTR) once again lambasted the State Congress government for its mishandling of the agricultural crisis in the state.
KTR visited two farmer families in Mushampally village in Nalgonda district on Monday. Interacting with them, he extended support to a farmer named Mallaiah Yadav with one lakh rupees. Yadav lost eight acres of crops due to the lack of water and power supply.
Expressing concern over the looming agricultural crisis, KTR blamed the present Congress government for mismanagement. He criticised the government for neglecting farmer issues while engaging in political activities and questioned the sincerity of the state chief minister and his colleagues for failing to visit farmers and provide assurance.
KTR highlighted that around 200 farmers have committed suicide due to the government's mismanagement of agriculture issues.
KTR challenged ministers who claimed there were no power cuts in the state to visit farmers in the fields and assert the same in front of them if they had the courage. He objected to attributing drought-like situations in the state to nature, stating that these conditions were brought about by the Congress government's negligence.
Accusing the Congress government of trying to discredit KCR by labelling the Kaleshwaram project as a failure, KTR emphasised that the government's negligence in repairing the Medigadda project led to the loss of lakhs of acres of crops.
In response to KCR's field visit, KTR criticised the government's delayed efforts in lifting water from the Nandi Pump House to farmers in Karimnagar using the same Kaleshwaram project's mega motors. He demanded immediate relief measures for distressed farmers, including financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 per acre for those who have lost their crops due to the lack of power and irrigation water supply...////...
