Hyderabad, Jan 5 (Reporter) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of betraying farmers and failing to deliver on its election promises. Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, here on Sunday, KTR described the Congress party as a "fraud and a cheat" that has repeatedly deceived farmers in the state. KTR criticised the Congress government for reducing the promised Rs 15,000 annual assistance under the Rythu Bharosa scheme to Rs 12,000 and imposing stringent conditions for eligibility. "This blatant deception is a dark chapter in the history of Telangana. The farmers will not forgive this betrayal," he said. KTR highlighted the Congress government’s failure to fulfill its election manifesto, calling their guarantees "empty promises." He questioned the rationale behind celebrating the reduced farmer assistance and accused Congress of misleading voters for political gain. "Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy have broken their promises to the farmers. They assured Rs 15,000 but delivered Rs 12,000. Instead of supporting farmers, the Congress government has become a symbol of betrayal," KTR remarked, demanding an apology from Congress leaders. Targeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR accused him of insulting Telangana and its achievements. "Revanth Reddy claimed that conditions for government employees were better in a united Andhra Pradesh. This is an insult to Telangana, which has provided the highest salaries in the country and implemented landmark projects like Kaleshwaram and Mission Bhagiratha," he said. KTR also dismissed Revanth’s claims of a financial crisis in the state. "Telangana is not bankrupt; it is Revanth Reddy’s brain that is bankrupt. The state’s economic engine, Hyderabad, continues to thrive despite the baseless allegations of Congress leaders," he asserted. KTR announced that the BRS would organise statewide protests in support of farmers. "Tomorrow, we will hold demonstrations at all district, Mandal, and constituency centers to demand accountability from the Congress government. Farmers should rise and stop Congress leaders from further deceiving the villages," he urged. KTR criticised the Congress for its lack of clarity on providing farmer assurance to horticulture farmers and accused the government of prioritizing political gains over the welfare of the agricultural community. "Farmers should decide whether to trust the Congress’s schemes or support the BRS, which has consistently delivered for them," he said...////...
