Hyderabad, Dec 22 (Reporter) In a strongly worded open letter, BRS Working President
K T.Rama Rao (KTR) has called on Telangana farmers to unite against what he described as the Congress government’s "deceptive and restrictive" actions regarding the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
KTR accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of avoiding critical questions about the scheme during the recent assembly session. “Instead of addressing the concerns of farmers, he diverted the discussion to irrelevant issues to evade accountability,” KTR alleged.
He expressed concern over the Congress government’s intention to align Rythu Bharosa with the central PM-Kisan guidelines, a move he claimed would exclude more than half of Telangana’s farmers from receiving benefits. "This is a deliberate attempt to cut benefits and betray the farming community," KTR said.
Highlighting the achievements of the BRS government under K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), KTR emphasized the transformative impact of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, which he said revolutionized Telangana’s agriculture sector, making farming a celebrated event. “Over Rs 73,000 crore has been credited directly to farmers' accounts across 11 seasons, ensuring transparency and eliminating corruption,” he said.
He also pointed to the Rs 28,000 crore allocated for loan waivers, noting that nearly Rs 1 lakh crore had been injected into the farming community, helping to rejuvenate agriculture in the state.
KTR criticized Congress for failing to fulfill its pre-election promise of Rs 15,000 per acre annually under Rythu Bharosa. “It’s been a year since their promise, but instead of delivering, they have reduced the amount and imposed unnecessary conditions, betraying the farmers once again,” he said.
He dismissed Congress allegations that funds from Rythu Bandhu were diverted to real estate as “baseless propaganda aimed at discrediting farmers and the previous government’s initiatives.”
IKTR urged farmers to rise against Congress’ duplicity. "Question their broken promises, challenge their leaders in your villages, and demand accountability. Farmers must unite to protect their rights and ensure that no injustice is done to them," he stated.
The letter concluded with a rallying cry for farmers to reject Congress' alleged attempts to dismantle the support systems provided by the BRS government. "Let’s protect the shields of support under KCR’s leadership and resist Congress' betrayal," KTR said...////...
