Hasan, Oct 27 (Reporter) Amid escalating political tensions in Karnataka, Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday voiced his dissatisfaction with the Congress government's criticisms of the Cenre regarding the distribution of Goods and Services Tax (GST) to the state.
Kumaraswamy accused Congress leaders of failing to anticipate the consequences surrounding GST issues, particularly given the involvement of prominent figures such as Manmohan Singh and P Chidambaram in its implementation.
"This confusion over GST is your doing," he declared. "Didn’t you understand it back then?” He urged Congress to transition from mere rhetoric to tangible action, emphasising that they must stop "talking and start acting," he told reporters.
Campaigning alongside his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy for the upcoming Channapatna Assembly constituency by-election, Kumaraswamy likened their efforts to the Mahabharata, positioning Nikhil as the Arjuna of their electoral battle, ready to counter the opposition's strategies. "Our public and party workers are fully backing Nikhil," he asserted.
Referring to the Janata Dal (Secular)'s historic strength in Channapatna, Kumaraswamy questioned the Congress party's candidate selection and reinforced that JDS has consistently been a formidable force in the region.
While acknowledging previous electoral setbacks, he conveyed optimism about their current alignment and preparedness, stating, “We have faced challenges, but we are ready. Our opponents, meanwhile, are grappling with feuds and contradictions within their ranks...////...
