Bengaluru, June 5 (Reporter) JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy struck a confident tone on Wednesday, expressing strong doubts about the Congress's chances of forming a government at the Centre, following the declaration of Lok Sabha election results on Tuesday. Before heading to New Delhi for a crucial NDA constituents meeting, Kumaraswamy addressed the media, stating unequivocally, "Nothing will happen," when questioned about the Congress's attempts to establish a government. The former Chief Minister, the second-in-command of the JDS, triumphed in the Mandya constituency as an NDA candidate. His party also saw success in Kolar with Mallesh Babu's victory, although Prajwal Revanna from Hassan faced defeat. The NDA made a strong showing in Karnataka, winning 19 out of 28 Lok Sabha seats, with the BJP claiming 17 and the JDS 2. This marks a shift from 2019, where the BJP won 25 seats, including one backed by an independent candidate. Meanwhile, the ruling Congress made significant gains, increasing its tally from a single seat in 2019 to nine in this election.
