Bengaluru, June 19 (Reporter) Union Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy met Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday to push for key projects, notably the Bengaluru-Satyamangala-Chamarajanagar railway line via the Kanakapura-Malavalli route.
The ambitious project, initially sanctioned during the tenure of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, is poised to significantly enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region.
"I had a cordial meeting with Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Avaru, the Railway Minister of the Central Government, at Railway Bhawan. We discussed the timely completion of delayed and ongoing railway projects in the state, the approval of new railway lines, and securing financial assistance," Kumaraswamy stated. "I am pleased with his very positive response."
"Additionally, I requested the Hon'ble Railway Minister to undertake and expedite the Bengaluru-Satyamangala-Chamarajanagar railway project (via the Kanakapura-Malavalli route), which was sanctioned during the tenure of Hon'ble former Prime Minister Mr. H.D. Deve Gowda avavru," he added.
Kumaraswamy detailed his extensive consultation with the minister, expressing satisfaction with Vaishnaw's commitment to addressing Karnataka's railway needs. He also conveyed the importance of realising the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing how these railway projects align with broader national development goals.
