Mumbai, Feb 6 (Reporter) Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly, Vijay Wadettiwar, on Tuesday strongly attacked the ruling Mahayuti government in the state, alleging that its appetite for both money and power is growing day by day. "Money for power and power through money is the norm of this government," he said in a press statement here. He accused the government of being involved in various scams including ambulance scam worth Rs 8,000 crore, mobile phone scam worth Rs 155 crore and now saree scam of over Rs 100 crore, he alleged. Elaborating on it, he claimed that the government is toying idea of ​​giving mobile phones to Anganwadi workers to earn money and intends to distribute sarees to beneficiaries of Antyodaya Yojana to get votes in the elections, he further claimed. "If the government wants to give mobile phones, then it should directly deposit money in the bank accounts of Anganwadi workers and they should be allowed to buy mobile phones of their choice. Then, there will be no corruption," the Opposition leader noted and alleged that the government is doing so to fill pockets of the favoured company based in Delhi. He charged that after ambulance and mobile scams, the government has now done the saree scam and said that the Mahayuti government wishes to give one saree to each Antyodaya ration card holder family. Keeping an eye on upcoming elections, the government is trying hard to get votes by distributing mobile phones and sarees, he alleged and said that the government is going to buy 25 lakh sarees at cost of Rs 155 crore. "In fact, we know that the government intends to buy one crore sarees. Instead, the government should utilise that money for women's safety and make women empowered by giving them employment," he said.
