Mumbai, Mar 27 (Reporter) The Shiv Sena (UBT) faction on Wednesday announced the first list of 17 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra.
MP Sanjay Raut tweeted the list of candidates of Thackeray group.
As per the list, the party has been announced official candidature of former four-time MP Chandrakant Khaire from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Marathwada.
With the party announcing the candidature of Khaire, the dream of Leader of Opposition in state Legislative Council and Shiv Sena Ambadas Danve, who was eyeing the Sambhajinagar seat, has been dashed.
For past few days, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Lok Sabha seat has been a bone of contention between Khaire and Danve, with the ongoing dispute between the two leaders reaching Matoshree.
Therefore, everyone's attention was focused on who would get the nomination from the Chhatrapati
Sambhajinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
Meanwhile, the 17 candidates are Narendra Khedekar from Buldhana, Sanjay Deshmukh (Yavatmal-Washim), Sanjog Waghare-Patil (Maval), Chandrahar Patil (Sangli), Nagesh Patil-Ashtikar (Hingoli), Chandrakant Khaire (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Omraje Nimbalkar (Dharshiv), Bhausaheb Waghchoure (Shirdi), Rajabhau Waze (Nashik), Anant Geete (Raigad), Rajan Vichare (Thane), Vinayak Raut (Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg), Sanjay Dina Patil (Mumbai North East), Arvind Sawant (Mumbai South), Amol Kirtikar (Mumbai North-West), Anil Desai (Mumbai South-Central) and Sanjay Jadhav (Parbhani).
Reacting on announcement of seats, Danve said, 'Tthe party has given me too much, including the posts of MLC and the Leader of Opposition in the state Legislative Council. I am Bal Thackeray's Shiv Sainik... Ordinary Shiv Sainiks may also be interested in contesting the elections.'
"However, once the candidate is announced, everything ends... So now, we will work according to the order of the party...," he added...////...
