Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Apr 23 (Reporter) Polling for the three parliamentary constituencies in Marathwada region of Maharashtra will be held on April 26 in second phase of Lok Sabha elections. Polling will be held in Nanded, Hingoli and Parbhani Lok Sabha constituencies on April 26. Ongoing hectic campaigning will come to an end on evening of April 24. There are in all 90 candidates in these constituencies, with highest of 34 in Parbhani, followed by 33 in Hingoli and 23 in Nanded. Election Commission has taken several measures through SVEEP initiative to increase voting percentage in this election. The leaders of all political parties toured Marathwada and urged electorates to get their candidates elected. The candidates of ruling Mahayuti have certainly benefited from the meetings addressed by BJP's star campaigners, like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who have laid groundwork for them in Marathwada. There are indications that appeal made by these two leaders will garner a good response in favour of Mahayuti's candidates in Marathwada. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Pratap Patil-Chiklikar had won from the Nanded Lok Sabha constituency against former chief minister Ashok Chavan of Congress. BJP has again nominated Chiklikar from Nanded. On other hand, the Congress party has nominated former MLA Vasant Chavan this time. Meanwhile, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) has nominated Avinash Bhosikar, a youth from Lingayat community, from Nanded. In Hingoli constituency, Shiv Sena-Shinde has nominated its candidate Baburao Kadam-Kohlikar on behalf of the Mahayuti, while rival Shiv Sena-UBT has nominated former MLA Nagesh Patil-Ashtikar. Hingoli is the stronghold of Shiv Sena. On other hand, VBA has nominated Dr B D Chavan. In Parbhani constituency, there will be a straight contest between Shiv Sena-UBT nominee sitting MP Sanjay Jadhav versus Mahayuti's candidate Mahadev Jankar (RSP)...////...
