Nashik (Maharashtra), Jan 9 (Reporter) The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau here arrested a Talathi for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from the complainant. ACB sources said on Thursday that the Talathi Bapu Wamanrao Pawar (54) was arrested by the ACB team for accepting the bribe from the complainant for correcting the name of his son on the Satbara (7/12 an extract). The complainant's ancestral farm was registered in the name of his wife and son with the secondary registrar. He gave it to the Talathi to register it on the Satbara Utara. However, it was cancelled as the child's name was wrong in the said registration. Talathi Pawar demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 for the board officer to correct it and register it on the Satbara Utara (7/12 extract). When the complainant filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau, it was verified. After that, the ACB team yesterday laid a trap and arrested Pawar red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 1,000. A case has been registered with the Yeola Taluka Police in this regard...////...
