Mumbai, Jan 11 (Reporter) All the eight accused arrested in connection with murder of Massajog village Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh have been booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act ( MCOCA) by Special Investigation Team ( SIT) here on Saturday. However, Valmik Karad, who is also one of the accused, was booked under extortion case and MCOCA was not invoked against him. The Santosh Deshmukh murder case is causing outrage not only in Beed district but across the state. Demonstrations are being held at various places. There is demand from various political parties in state that a murder case should be registered against Karad and strict action should be taken against him. The eight accused are Sudharshan Ghule, Vishnu Chate, Sudhir Sangle, Jairam Chate, Sudhir Ghule, Pratik Ghule, Krishna Andhale and Siddharth Sonwane. Meanwhile, Vaibhavi Deshmukh, the daughter of Santosh Deshmukh said that a month has passed since the murder of his father and the police investigation is going on.
